The Director of Revenue Cycle & Operations is an essential leadership role responsible for directing the operations, staff, and processes of DBM. The ideal candidate will have both tactical and strategic RCM operations experience, healthcare operations, finance management, and administrative services experience. This role will cultivate and support a strong, accountable team culture and collaborative environment, while being focused on achieving annual business objectives.


Our clients are a private physician network of Pathologists and Scientists focused on providing the highest level of anatomic, clinical and molecular pathology services to area health systems, individual practices in the Carolinas, and many group practices across the country.




  • Provide leadership and direction of DBM day-to-day operations while working closely and taking direction from the Board of Directors. Serve as a liaison between the Board, healthcare staff and all departments of DBM.
  • Oversee operational areas including: accounting, human resources, IT, credentialing and other administrative functions.
  • Direct and oversee the strategic function and processes for billing and revenue cycle.
  • Provide leadership in the planning, development and implementation of company objectives, business and strategic plans; develops specific goals and standard that directly support the strategic plan.
  • Assist in the preparation of the DBM budget with input from the Board and leadership team; monitor expenditures with the finance team
  • Monitor the financial performance of the company, control staffing needs, operations budget and capital budget. Closely monitor variations in financial performance.
  • Oversee regulatory compliance, contracts and vendor relations.
  • Serve as the DBM Compliance Officer and manage the compliance program ensuring adherence to the program and policies throughout the company.
  • Ensure all Company practices are in compliance with external regulatory agencies such as the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Medicare, Medicaid and other third-party payers, and institutional policies.
  • Manages staff relations including performance management, staff satisfaction and conflict management.
  • Establishes standards of quality, productivity, and performance. Provides ongoing feedback and direction to direct reports.
  • Works collaboratively with our physicians, third-party offshore billing service provider, and other strategic partners.
  • Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to influence continuous improvements in the Company’s efficiency and services performed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirement Note
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, healthcare management, healthcare administration or related field required.
  • Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration or MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of healthcare experience preferably in pathology, radiology and/or lab operations.
  • 5+ years management experience in a healthcare/clinical environment over diverse operational teams.
  • Experience with Practice Management Systems required; NextGen a strong plus.
  • Previous experience leading a medical billing operation including supplemental offshore resources a strong plus.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Healthcare collections, medical billing, coding, financial reporting and management.
  • Certified Professional Coder a plus.
  • Proficient with medical terminology, CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10 and HCPCS coding concepts.
  • Must possess strong managerial, financial and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrates the administrative and management skills necessary to direct a number of organizational programs and supervise management, professional and hourly staff.
  • Consistent demonstration of commitment to quality, customer focus, productivity and process improvement.
  • Independent judgment and analytical skills to be able to develop and evaluate projects/operations or recommend changes that affect projects/operations.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with representatives of client organizations, business leaders, and staff in a tactful and positive manner.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, proven success in complex and ambiguous environments.
  • Ability to work independently, with high productivity, and regularly meet deadlines.
