Brief Description

Catering Operations Manager Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the daily operation of the banquet area (order and maintain supplies, review set-up, and food and beverage preparation and service) to ensure compliance with Company procedures, banquet event orders, and safety regulations.
  • Ensure optimal levels of service, quality, and hospitality.
  • Meet with customers to review and address changes, issues and/or problems to ensure delivery of a quality product; prepare necessary files and worksheets for event.
  • Monitor and control the maintenance of the banquet areas and equipment to protect the assets and ensure quality service.
  • Supervise and direct the banquet associates including captains, servers, wait staff, etc.
  • Interview, recommend hiring, schedule, train, develop, empower, and coach banquet staff.
  • Assist in the book and paperwork preparation of parties (meet…book…contract).
  • Assist in banquet sales.
  • Position breakdown: 75% Operation responsibilities/25% Administrative.

Requirement Note

 

Catering Operations Manager Qualifications:

  • ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE at least two (2) years experience in a banquet management environment as a MAITRE D'.
  • Strong F&B background.
  • Assertive and driven.
  • Proven track record for supervising a team.
  • Proven performance for achieving excellent customer service.
  • Ability to oversee hiring, training, scheduling, employee issues, and terminations.
  • Good communicator, well organized, and detail oriented.
  • Flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays; able to work on an event-driven schedule.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Must be able to work independently as well as follow given instructions.
