Brief Description

Our client is a highly-regarded restaurant group on Long Island, with 8 premier restaurants and a wedding venue. We seek a dynamic Director of Training and Development to ensure consistent quality and support growth of the group and the customer experience.

  • Deliver and facilitate training to our staff and management for 9 white-glove restaurants
  • Develop and improve systems, accountability, and QA to ensure completion of training checklist
  • Work with Operations Group to ensure that we are aligned, certified, and properly training to organizational standards
  • Provide ongoing Manager Training and development
  • Work with the Operations and Marketing teams to create rollout plans for new materials
  • Participate in manager performance reviews
  • Keep ongoing and updated records of all training records
  • Create metrics to measure the effectiveness of training and ensure a return on investment
  • Partner with leadership on performance & leadership development planning, training, and assessment for the field
  • Create, facilitate, and track programs for new restaurant openings
  • Ensure excellence in all standards at all restaurants, and ensure each opening executes flawlessly from a training, operational and budgetary perspective


Requirement Note


  • 5+ years of previous experience in Training and/or Operations, preferably within a corporate or full- service restaurant environment
  • Organized, detail-oriented individual with strong project management skills
  • Advanced knowledge of adult learning, training procedures, and best practices
  • Proven background in successful training initiatives that have provided an ROI to the business
  • eLearning experience preferred
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and facilitation skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate with everyone from hourly employees to executive leadership
  • Ability to work independently and to collaborate with others, including cross-functional teams
  • Excellent problem-solving and judgment skills with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to travel locally
