Brief Description

The Business Development Manager will expand our healthcare industry presence on a national basis, gain market share, and increase revenue from a cross section of services offered to prospective clients in the healthcare vertical. This role is responsible for cultivating and capturing new business opportunities on behalf of the company through inbound leads and outbound strategy. The BDM engages in all stages of the pipeline from prospecting, to leading presentations, preparing responses to RFPs, leading the pitch process and negotiating contracts. Able to effectively qualify prospects, present customized solutions to senior executives and build long term relationships.



 Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Provides insights that enrich the marketing strategy.
  • Develops and implements strategic sales plans to accommodate corporate goals.
  • Maintain a high level of sales activity through prospecting calls, face-to-face appointments, presentations, referrals and networking events.
  • Demonstrates understanding of key revenue cycle areas, including, but not limited to, insurance verification, registration, coding, billing, collections, denials/underpayments, and customer service.
  • Manage the Leads-to-Close process and interface with Operations to ensure a smooth client onboarding.
  • Identify, generate and follow up on sales leads identified through marketing research, trade shows, marketing campaigns, email inquiries and other sources for markets and opportunities.
  • Partner with Client Relationship Manager to support organic growth, understand client needs/expectations and communicate to the marketplace our successes and abilities to those prospects that may have similar needs.
  • Build strong, lasting, strategic relationships and personal and professional credibility with decision makers.
  • Understand specific portfolio characteristics including profitability, portfolio strategies, staffing requirements and competitive rankings.
  • Provide monthly KPI report outlining activities including, but not limited to, cold calls, lead generation, conversion rates, time to close, revenue performance to plan and support project deliverables.

Qualifications

 

Education and/or Experience

 

Bachelor's degree (B. A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university preferred. Experience in the revenue cycle or healthcare industry. Experience in business development.

 

 Language Skills

 

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

 

 Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, percentages, liquidation rates, etc.

 

 Travel

Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time

 

 Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

 

 Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet software and Microsoft Word Processing software.

 

 Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

The ability to pass background check and must possess a valid driver's license.

Office setting with overhead lighting. Standard desk and adjustable chair. Computer, monitor, telephone and headset used. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions during off site travel. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
