Brief Description

 

Our client, an Accounts Receivable Management company, is seeking a Director of Collections who will collaborate with various constituents to develop and execute plans to meet or exceed company operational business objectives.  Will participate in the development of organizational policies, the coordination of functions and operations between divisions and departments, and as a member of the senior management team, is responsible for the attainment of the company's monthly and annual collection and revenue goals.   The Director is also responsible for retaining client contracts and for creating operational momentum that supports the expansion of revenue from existing clients, while maintaining transparency in addressing client or operating income risks.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Organizational Leadership - Manages subordinate supervisors/managers who supervise employees in the Collection Operations. Is responsible for the overall direction, mentorship, coordination, evaluation and on-going refinement of these teams.

  • Strategy and Execution - Is a collections strategy expert who continuously evaluates the account work flow and techniques being applied to each client portfolio being serviced.   Works with the Vice President of Operations to ensure that client performance and corporate operating targets are met.

  • Compliance -Maintains current understanding of the compliance/regulatory environment.     Ensures that appropriate controls are in place to prevent compliance breaches.

  • Deal Evaluation – Participates in the evaluation of the operational cost model for new projects.   Works with sales and analysis teams to ensure that the organization is provided with accurate expectations for each project considered.

  • Create Transparency - Ensures routine and accurate business dashboards are readily available.   Provide all stakeholders with comprehensive and up to date information concerning the health of operations and client relationships.

  • Organizational Support - Coordinates functions and operations between the Human Resources, Training and Development, and Support Departments. Assist sales directly with clients when necessary.

  • Leadership Development - Evaluates performance of Production Managers and Team Leads for compliance with established policies and objectives of firm and contributions in attaining objectives. Also, responsible for development of internal staff for future leadership opportunities.

  • Budgeting and Forecasting - Create annual and quarterly budgets and provide monthly variance explanations.


Requirement Note

 

REQUIREMENTS:              

  • Bachelor's degree or years of collection industry experience - 3rd party

  • 8+ years of increasingly responsible management experience.

  • Significant knowledge of collections strategies and compliance programs.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of collection tools and operating platforms - knowledge of Artiva a plus.

  • Proven success in a similar competitive collection environment- cable, telecom

  • Conflict management expert.

  • Proficiency in Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and MS Word.

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages.

  • Ability to solve complex problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

  • Ability to collaborate, build trusted relationships, provide excellent communication and presentation skills.
