Brief Description

My client is a full service, AISC Certified Steel Fabricator and AISC Advanced Steel Erector. They have an award winning corporate culture, excellent compensation and benefits and is rooted in the Austin TX community. 



Direct and overall responsibility for the development and continuous improvement and execution of health, safety and environmental policies and procedures for all company locations and projects.

Ensure processes, procedures, and reporting activities comply with all laws, regulations, and corporate policies as they may be updated and/or amended periodically.

Provide expert advice to corporate officers, Project Managers, Field and Shop personal, clients and others as appropriate in all matters related to Health, Safety, and Environmental issues.

Develop long term HSE strategy to support company growth, including emergency plans and procedures.

Develop and oversee HSE training and development of all staff at all locations.

Forecasting and budget responsibility, strategic planning responsibilities.

Develop and maintain good relationships with community organizations including schools, trade organizations, OSHA and other government agencies and support community initiatives that foster interest in construction, STEM, and other related disciplines, while modelling client's values of Safety, Teamwork, Ethics, Enthusiasm, and leadership.

Development of forward-looking performance analysis methods and tools.

Development of the HSE team members to provide consistent high-quality performance.

Requirement Note

Minimum 15 years proven experience in HSE management preferably with a minimum of 5 years at the corporate level.

Corporate subject matter expert in Health, Safety and Environmental topics.

BSc/BA in Safety Management, Engineering or equivalent is preferred.

Proficiency in MS office and safety management information systems.

Exceptional organizational and communications skills.

Experience in the steel fabrication and erection industry preferred.

Proven leadership skills, ability to foster employee engagement.

Ability to lead remote and off-site teams.
