Our client is a premier General Contractor headquartered in the New York Tristate area.  They are seeking an Accounting professional that has experience in accounting and developing special solutions designed to increase efficiency, productivity and profitability.

Job Description:

  • Compile and analyze financial statements  
  • Manage budgeting and forecasting  

  • Review and preparation of Financial Reports, ensuring they're accurate and GAAP compliant   

  • Entry of Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, incoming, and outgoing payment transactions into the management platform and QuickBooks Desktop  

  • Daily reconciliation of incoming credit cards, checks, and other forms of payment   

  • Monthly reconciliation of corporate credit card   

  • Monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliation and remittance of sales tax   

  • Follow up on chargebacks and other payment issues   
  • Follow up with queries relating to billing and payment inquiries   
  • Financial analysis as needed   

  • Coordinate monthly closing and maintenance of departmental and projects financial statements   

  • Revenue accounts analysis   

  • Bank reconciliations   

  • Perform accounts payable process for assigned projects to ensure expenses are paid timely and recorded accurately   

  • Prepare work papers for external auditors   

  • Prepare accruals and general ledger maintenance   

  • Fixed Assets depreciation schedules and tracking of new equipment and amortization schedules   

  • Prepare 1099 reporting   

  • Prepare recurring and ad hoc internal and external reporting as needed   

  • Proactively manage vendor email inbox and provide timely response and resolution when needed  

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree; Accounting preferred   

  • 3-5 years related experience in construction  

  • Fluency in Microsoft Office Suite; Vista Viewpoint a "+"
