The Private Label Business Development Manager will be responsible for strategy development, scouting, initiating new business relationships, deal-making & team management to launch strategic new product lines under the Company's brand from selected OEM partners.  This position will be heading the newly created Laboratory Product Strategy (LPS) -wide Private Label team (3 direct reports) with objective to enhance the LPS strategic workflow solutions enabling the Company to further increase relevancy with our life science customer base and drive accelerated recurring business revenue.   


Job Description:

  • Map LPS strategic workflow solutions & identify key portfolio gaps in collaboration with the Business area Product Mgt. teams
  • Prioritize gaps based on strategic fit and business potential
  • Analyze competitor landscape, relevant market dynamics & identify key partnering opportunities
  • Scout, establish & maintain effective business relationships with strategic external partners
  • Validate production set up of external partners
  • Lead OEM discussions & deal-making supported by PL Sourcing manager
  • Drive business development opportunities from initial contact to product launch
  • Quantify, build, and present Private label business cases to Marketing leadership committee
  • Opportunity funnel management & progression
  • Team management of dedicated Private Label (PL) Sourcing manager & PL Product managers
  • Ensure effective global launches of new product lines under Sartorius brand
  • Track performance of Private label launches & conduct quarterly business reviews
  • Collaborate with M&A team on highlighting potential acquisition targets

Job Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in scientific field preferably in life sciences required
  • Minimum 5-10 years of relevant work experience ideally in a matrix organization required
  • Experience in International Business Development and/or Product Management required
  • Experience in negotiations & deal-making required
  • Experienced working in Life Science tool market preferred
  • Experience in managing a team of direct reports
  • Entrepreneurial, flexible & global mindset
  • Ability to lead, inspire & drive for success
  • Willingness to travel (25%)
  • Strong MS Office skills
