Job Description:

We are seeking a Construction Defect Consultant (Licensed Architect, Engineer, or General Building Contractor), to provide forensic consulting services support for the Florida region. The position requires architectural and/or facility design expertise for insurance, legal, industrial, and other clients. This role requires a strong background and understanding of technical aspects related to residential and commercial building envelope systems, building codes, ADA guidelines, construction, and the standard of general architect’s responsibilities. It also calls for providing oral and written reports of findings and, when needed, expert testimony.

  • Remote position reporting onsite as needed
  • Flexible work schedule
  • Field reporting/ Investigative reporting
  • provide informed, accurate data regarding building envelope complaints.
  • Document review and analysis
  • Review and analysis of other expert reports
  • Site investigations to review field conditions
  • Site testing to confirm building performance
  • Identification of issues and necessary actions to resolve claims
  •  Rendering of expert opinions
  • Written and oral reports to present expert opinions and supporting documentation
  • Provide expert presentations and consultation at mediation and arbitration proceedings
  • Provide expert testimony at depositions and trials


Job Requirements:

 

·California Licensed Professional Architect or Structural Engineer preferred.

· 5-10 years of relevant work experience.

· Ability to travel as required.

· Proven personal computer experience with sophisticated knowledge of Microsoft Excel

· Excellent oral and written communications skills.

· Proven organizational skills.

· Strong presentation skills.

· Candidate should be detail-oriented with an ability to work independently.

· Ability to work under project deadlines and adapt to changing project tasks as dictated by case deadlines and attorney client priorities.

· Must have a valid Florida (Class C) Driver’s License
