Established Nassau County landlord is seeking an experienced Controller with Residential or Commercial real estate experience to oversee the Accounting group. The Controller will lead a small team of Accountants and manage all aspects of accounting & analysis for Commercial Assets. Salary is commensurate with experience, and is in-office Mon-Fri.

Job Description:

• Assist in the review and preparation of monthly financial statements
• Manage monthly Commercial property journal entries and monthly Commercial and Residential cash entries.
• Verify Commercial property escalation schedules for submission to Asset Managers
• Oversee preparation and processing of monthly property mortgage payments
• Prepare quarterly variance reports for submission to Financial Reporting department
• Utility tax returns and annual property sales tax license renewals
• Oversee accounts payable, credit card activity and bank reconciliations
• Special projects and other duties as requested

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree
• A minimum of 8-10 years in real estate accounting
• 2+ years of staff management
• Experience with major real estate accounting package such as Yardi, MRI, MDS etc.
