Our client is currently seeking an Operations Finance Accountant to join our team of Financial professionals to track and analyze all cost and accounting related activities and reporting functions. The Operations Finance Accountant is responsible for maintaining the Costing system, driving change and adding value to the role.


Job Description:

  • Process Ad Hoc cost estimates for new and current business reviews
  • Build monthly P&L formats for each Manufacturing Plant to be used for meetings on budget and per case comparisons
  • Recognize and communicate major issues and variances to financial and budget plan
  • Provide forecasted manufacturing plant expenses based on metrics incorporated into P&L
  • Work with Ops team on cost savings projects, yield savings ideas and capex projects
  • Create return on investment and savings initiatives for capex projects
  • Assist in documenting internal controls for audit purposes
  • Monitor cycle count process, provide inventory accuracy percentages and count coverage
  • Review monthly aged and/or quarantined inventory with Supply Chain and Warehouse and provide assessment if reserve is needed
  • Explain monthly cost variance versus budget and forecast
  • Maintain standard cost system
  • Participate in monthly yield meetings and month end close by providing accurate data and maintenance of journals and balance sheet reconciliations  


Job Requirements:

 

 Competencies and Education:

  • 5+ years’ experience as a cost accountant in a manufacturing environment  
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent  
  • Excellent analytical skills, sound understanding of accounting principles
  • Experience working with manufacturing personnel on development and analysis of cost standards
  • Experience with DEACOM or other Manufacturing ERP System
  • Ability to accurately prepare daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports, proficient to expert in Microsoft EXCEL and standard cost applications
  • Strong project management and communication skills preferred
  • Ability to balance competing priorities, complex situations and tight deadlines
