Our client located on Long Island, NY is seeking a well rounded Software Engineer. This engineer will be responsible for on-site programming and client implementations of the Building (Facilities) Management System which is built in a prorietary langauge. The system automates, monitors and controls building mechanical and electrical systems such as HVAC, Lighting and Security.


Job Description:


• Provides support and mentorship to less experienced software engineers on staff

• Will program/configure Building (Facilities) Automation Systems (proprietary object-oriented language)

   - GUI for each module/implemeted system

   - Create input, output, and variable point according to the naming convention

   - Full testing before implementation

• Installs, configures, and maintains video management and card access systems

• Testing, documentation, training, and post implementation troubleshooting of all systems per specific project requirements

• Fulfill projects and report issues in coordination with PM’s, Design Engineers, and Field Installation Technicians

• General PC and small-site LAN setup and maintenance

• Performs additional duties as required



• Perform functions in accordance with client's high standard of quality

• All personnel are empowered to make suggestions for continuous improvements

• Perform work and maintain equipment and environment in accordance with safety standards.

• Maintain current OSHA 30 and SST construction safety training certification.

Job Requirements:


• 4-5+ yrs - hands-on experience as a well rounded Software Engineer.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent

• Experience serving as technical lead throughout the full software development lifecycle

• Conception, planning, implementation, testing to documentation, delivery, and maintenance

• Knowledge of best practices for software development life cycle (coding standards, build processes, testing, and operations)

• Experience with major code-based programming languages

• Troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and customer relations

Note: Experience with Building (Facilities) Automation Systems such as HVAC, Lighting and Security is a plus
