Job Description:

Senior Injection Molding Technician

 

JOB FUNCTIONS: While in the performance of job duties, observes all safety regulations including personal protective equipment applicable to the use of electrical tooling and equipment and applicable to the use of chemicals including isopropyl alcohol, flux, solder, glues and epoxies. Assists with training employees in safe working habits and addresses safety precautions required to maintain a safe working environment.

  • Responsible for mentoring and training all current and new employees.
  • Resident expert of the Injection Molding Department.
  • Oversee a variety of complex operations and duties in the Injection Molding production area.
  • Communicate with department personnel regarding processes, material, equipment, and product quality.
  • Assist in the transition of new products and processes into manufacturing. Assists in the development of operator skill levels.
  • Implements planned production schedules. Reviews schedules to coordinate materials, tooling and to identify constraints. Provides day to day assignments to operators as required.
  • Monitors machine and equipment performance and makes adjustments such as set up, calibration and alignments as required. Clears all minor machine difficulties and performs regular maintenance activities. Coordinates with manufacturing engineering and Maintenance for major machine repairs.
  • Teaches and trains new operators. Sets up work areas and provides guidelines, instructions and demonstrations.
  • Makes decisions on the quality of injection molded parts.
  • Assists the engineers in setting up and running of new parts, pilots and samples including the development of manufacturing processes and documentation.
  • Completes paperwork as required.
  • Completes all necessary electronic transactions.
  • Interacts positively as a Team member with all co-workers.
  • Performs other related duties as required

 



Job Requirements:

EDUCATION/REQUIREMENTS:  

 

  • High school education or equivalent experience.  
  • 3-5 years of work related experience.
