Job Description:
Manager of Operations
Fabulous Wedding/Event/Banquet venue located in Melville seeks an Operations Manager to assist General Manager with banquet operations, planning and supervision.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise day-to-day activity for entire multi-event banquet operation including kitchen and building maintenance, ensuring that the organization is managed and performing efficiently and effectively.
- Responsible for performance of banquet operations including banquet staff and plant operations.
- Recruiting and training of department managers and staff.
- Turnovers, equipment organization, scheduling and assisting during events.
- Collaboration with sales department manager.
- Staff evaluations and advancement.
Job Requirements:
Requirements –
- 3+ years of experience in banquet planning and supervision
- Thorough understanding of catering industry practices and finance.
- Superior verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, as well as catering industry software.
- At least some familiarity with catering industry labor laws and mandates
