Our client, a leading company in the North-American funeral industry, is seeking an Account Manager for NY’s 5 Boroughs & New-Jersey to help sustain and fuel our growth and presence in the Northeastern United States.
Job Description:
RESPONSIBILITIES OF ACCOUNT MANAGER
We are currently looking for an Account Manager to service our customers located in the State of New-Jersey and New-York City’s 5 Boroughs. This person will initiate sales, produce new accounts, and provide training, merchandising and service support to a variety of funeral homes throughout this geographical area. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to the following core areas:
- Directly manage all aspects of a sales territory with minimum need for constant supervision making best use of time and travel to present all products, programs and services to prospective customers.
- Successfully achieve all sales and promotion program objectives, while working independently.
- Maintain quality relationships with all established and prospective customers.
- Identify customer needs through the use of consultative selling practices, exploratory information gathering, analytical skills and empathetic listening.
- Actively maintain customer call planning system to effectively service accounts and build relationships using strategic prioritization and organizational management.
- Utilize problem-solving skills to identify objections and remove barriers to company products and related offerings.
- Effectively use computer skills to analyze, update and implement company sales plans and merchandising programs.
- Establish and maintain productive communications with corporate office staff as well as field-based logistics and support personnel
Job Requirements:
SKILLS REQUIRED OF ACCOUNT MANAGER
To perform successfully, the candidate should demonstrate the following skills
- Effective communication and presentation skills, both to individuals and small groups.
- Problem solving ability dealing with many variables and minimal standardization.
- Proven ability to work in a sales team environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft programs- Word, Excel and PowerPoint and ability to learn new computer systems of a proprietary nature.
- Detail oriented, with the ability to focus on short and long-range goals.
- Ability to develop and successfully execute a sales action plan.
- Involved and integrated into the fabric of regional and state associations.
- Familiar with the New-York and New-Jersey areas.
- Must be able to travel up to 70% of the time across the designated region and work on a flexible schedule.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED FOR ACCOUNT MANAGER POSITION
- Funeral service industry knowledge would be beneficial (ideally the candidate would be a licensed Funeral Director with minimum 3 years of experience)
