A leading MEP engineering and consulting firm is looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer in their Buffalo, New York Office.

Job Description:

This is an amazing opportunity for a Professional Mechanical Engineer with strong MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) background. Company offers generous compensation, career growth and excellent benefits.     

  • Plans and conducts work requiring judgment in independent evaluation, selection, adoption and modifications of standard techniques and procedures.
  • Works with the Principal, Associate or Project Manager to finalize Project Scope and Schedule of deliverables and understands priorities identified.
  • In addition to duties of project engineer/project designer.
  • Applies advanced practices and techniques, adjusts and correlates data, recognizes discrepancies and follows projects through program, schematic, design development, construction document, bidding and construction phases.  
  • Supervises, coordinates and reviews work, schedules and assigns work to meet completion dates.
  • Develop reports, studies and system analysis.
  • Works in an efficient an effective manor and makes good decisions.
  • Evaluate application of substitute equipment.
  • Review final adjustment of equipment and systems after installation.
  • Write or contact client directly except in controversial matters.
  • Can represent the firm at meetings and cover all trades, which may require further follow through.
  • Is assisted on projects by other Engineers and/or Designers.
  • Estimates manpower needs and schedules and assigns work to meet completion date and updates the project manager as to status and resources available.
  • Mentor and train younger engineers and designers.


Job Requirements:

  • Has a Professional Engineering License (P.E.) or Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.) working toward P.E. Licensing.
  • Bachelor of Science or equivalent.
  • Eight years of experience in responsible charge of project design in respective discipline plus advanced courses, training program or seminars relating to Engineering and Management.  
  • Possesses a professional attitude showing interest in Company's reputation and growth.
  • A fully competent engineer in all conventional aspects of the area of his assignment.
