They are seeking a Senior System Administrator who will be responsible for managing and monitoring all installed systems and infrastructure. In addition, ensuring the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability as the first point of contact for employees seeking technical assistance.

NOTE: This is a hybrid opportunity (3 days on-site, 2 days remote) located in Port Washington, Long Island, N.Y. at the company’s new global headquarters which is a magnificent, ultra-modern, 272,000-square foot business complex that includes an on-site state of the art Research and Development Center, Fitness Center and all-day cafeteria serving free breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Job Description:

Server/Storage/Systems

  • Performing remote troubleshooting through diagnostic techniques and pertinent questions
  • Determining the best solution based on the issue and details provided by customer
  • Monitors server performance and mail routing
  • Windows OS, Web, WAS, Exchange, Sharepoint, and other MS products administration
  • Linux (Redhat) administration
  • Vmware products: ESXi, vcenter, vsphere, vSAN, VDI infrastructure administration
  • AWS design, administration and migration experience

Backup/Recovery

  • Performing system backups regularly and make sure the backups are valid by testing restore with scheduled backup and recovery test
  • Design proper backup and restore infrastructure by possible scenario cases
  • Perform regular backups and make sure the backups are valid
  • Keep copies of backups in another location for disaster recovery
  • Perform scheduled periodic backup and restore test
  • Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies

Applications Support

  • Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work with developers to implement those fixes
  • Participate in the design of information and operational support systems
  • Maintain the organization's email system

End User Support

  • Prepare new employee office environment - including email, VDI, VPN setup, and basic training
  • Support and troubleshoot employees and VIPs IT related requests related to PC, laptop, Network, Phone, System Access (including email), SAP, and Portal site
  • Maintain public area including meeting, conference rooms, auditorium and cafeteria, and others
  • Purchase IT equipment for employees including Servers, PC, Laptop, Monitors, etc

  • VMware (Vcenter, vSAN, VDI), DB (MSSQL)
  • AWS or Azure Cloud
