Our client is a specialized, high-growth Managing General Insurance Agency (MGA) who is looking for a Senior Auto Underwriting Manager to join their New York City Team.  

Job Description:

Salary : $190000 - $220000

  • Partners with brokers and managers to establish support needs for new and renewal policies (i.e., identify and gather relevant account information to underwrite new and current risks)
  • Works with identified resources to maintain a structured diary system and maintain file organization.
  • Determine the risk involved in insuring a client.
  • Manage diary system to ensure that all necessary information is received within established timelines and quotes are sent out in a timely fashion.
  • Researches and provides underwriting analysis of account information and ensures overall regulatory compliance.
  • Handles reviewing and monitoring all tasks done by the UW assistants to ensure timely processing of endorsements, rating, policy issuance and submission clearance.
  • Works with Underwriters to issue policies and additional endorsements as needed, including data entry of required information
  • Manages account documentation and ensures file completeness and quality (correspondence, proposals, endorsements, cancellations, etc.)
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Participates in ongoing scheduled meetings with underwriters and brokers to discuss accounts, renewals, and the risk management needs for every client.

Job Requirements:

  • Strong expertise in National Auto Programs.
  • 10+ years in Senior Auto Underwriting experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Home office work area and high-speed internet capability.
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and to interact with internal staff, department managers.
