Our client is seeking a full time Systems Design Engineer to support the design and test of single and multi-axis controllers to drive brushless DC motors for the Motor Control Systems product line. The role requires experience in embedded system and FPGA design, integration and test of microprocessor, FPGA, and drive electronic circuit card assemblies as well as controller assemblies.

Job Description:

Responsibilities:

• Perform the design of brushless DC motor drivers for electromechanical systems.
• Perform embedded systems design for microprocessor and FPGA based designs for implementation of control system algorithms.
• Perform analog and digital design to control brushless servomotors and stepper motors.
• Support proposal efforts and create the technical volume to the customer’s requirements.
• Create presentation material for design reviews and customer technical reviews
• Create test plans and perform integration and test at board and box level.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications:

• Basic Qualifications:
• Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and 8+ years’ experience.
• Military or space electrical design experience
• Analog and digital design core skill set
• Experience with embedded system design and implementation.
• Experience with Control systems development (servo loops)
• Electrical design analyses: worst case, FMECA, and parts stress analysis
• Familiarity with MATLAB, Ansys Tools, Software languages, Altium, PSPICE
• PWB Design experience
• Able to collaborate with team members to work to develop a technical solution to meet customer requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

• Radiation hardened electronics design experience
• Ability to lead an electronics program for engineering
• Good writing and communications skills (presentations: CDR, PDR, technical proposals, etc.)
• Experience interfacing with customers.
