Commack, NY— On Tuesday April 30th, 2024, Long Island’s top newspaper, Newsday, published an article about the federal trade commission banning noncompete agreements. Newsday was looking for the perspective of recruiters who have often faced noncompete agreements that stand in the way of placements.

Victor Ocasio, the reporter working on the story reached out to the Executive Alliance Thought Leadership Team and spoke to Scott Passeser, Sr. Vice President of the company. Here is Passeser’s contribution to the story.

“Scott Passeser, senior vice president of Executive Alliance, a Commack firm that recruits management level employees for businesses, said noncompetes have been “a thorn in the side of business executives for years.” Passeser said he’s had many potential hires hit a roadblock when a noncompete was discovered. Some have left industries — often losing potential earnings — because of them, he said. Employers can use other protections such as nondisclosure and non-solicitation agreements, he said”
